Mars Challenge terms and conditions
Updated 6 October 2026 · Version 1.4
Framework for using the website and contacting Mars Challenge. Participation rules for each edition are published separately.
1. Scope and entity
The website operator and data controller is Asociación Virtual Educa, NIF G83519769. Address: Calle Princesa 31, planta 2, pta 2, Madrid 28008 - España. Contact office: Virtual Educa - Secretaría General. Contact and exercise of rights: info@virtualeduca.org. Using the website does not replace a specific participation or collaboration agreement.
2. Information and edition-specific rules
The website explains the programme, missions, experience, knowledge, projects and evidence. Mars Challenge 2027 and The Grand Jam 2026 are distinct contexts. Ages, eligibility, costs, schedules, team composition, evaluation, awards and AI use are governed by the official conditions of each edition or activity. A 2026 rule does not automatically apply to 2027; provisional or historical information must not be interpreted as a current call for applications.
3. Requests and accreditation
Submitting a form expresses an enquiry, proposal or request according to the chosen channel. An acknowledgement does not confirm registration, selection, accreditation or a right to enter an event. Confirmation must come from the responsible team through the appropriate channel. Submission failures require a retry or alternative contact: the email link prepares a message in your application and requires you to send it.
4. Responsible use
Provide accurate information and only data you are authorised to share. Do not impersonate others, send spam, introduce malicious code or attempt unauthorised access to systems or data. Avoid sensitive data in general forms. If acting for an institution or another person, obtain the necessary authorisation.
5. Minors
Arrangements requiring adult representation or authorisation must be handled with the appropriate family, guardian or institution. The programme requires prior explicit permission from a mother, father or guardian to record and publish materials involving minors, checked by Local Organisers and National Partners. Authorisations required for participation are governed by verified Official Rules for the specific edition and activity. Absence of a legally necessary authorisation prevents that activity; no universal obligation to accept optional promotional uses is established here. These terms do not set a universal admission age.
6. Intellectual property and projects
Texts, brands, images and other materials belong to their respective rights holders unless an explicit licence is stated. Respect attribution and each item’s reuse conditions. Submitting a project or message does not transfer intellectual property or automatically grant publication permission. Authorship and intellectual property are governed by specific Mars Challenge platform conditions and applicable agreements, which must be communicated before accepting participation. Displaying, communicating or sharing projects requires appropriate authorisation. Use of image, voice, name or testimonials requires prior, freely given, explicit and informed authorisation identifying purposes and authorised entities. Publication does not itself transfer project ownership.
7. Stories, evidence and outcomes
Projects and stories are presented with their available sources, limitations and evidence level. A reported experience is not the same as documentary verification. Participation does not guarantee university admission, employment, awards or other outcomes. An observed association does not by itself establish causation.
8. External services and availability
The website may link to external services such as Formspree, Instagram or scheduling tools. Their terms and policies apply when using those services. Interruptions or errors may occur; the organisation should provide alternative contact channels. This text does not remove legally imposed responsibilities or limit mandatory consumer or user rights.
9. Privacy and communications
Data processing is explained in the Privacy policy. Programme management may require registration, phase, evaluation, documentation or logistics communications. These are distinct from newsletters, campaigns or promotion of other initiatives. Commercial purposes require an appropriate legal basis and, where necessary, specific and separate consent, not enabled by default and withdrawable at any time. Submitting a form does not automatically authorise promotion or publication of personal data.
10. Changes, languages and enquiries
Changes will be identified by date and version and do not retroactively alter acquired rights. Equivalent ES, PT and EN versions are maintained; ask the team for clarification if you notice a discrepancy. No language precedence, exclusive jurisdiction or waiver of rights is established here. Applicable law and resolution mechanisms must be specified with the responsible entity, respecting mandatory rules. Enquiries: info@virtualeduca.org.
11. Payment data and contracting
The public website is not an online store and does not directly process electronic payments. It does not request or store bank-card or other payment-method data. Institutional participation models may involve fees, but contracting, formalisation, invoicing and payment take place through separate administrative or contractual processes. Tax, contractual or billing information collected in those processes requires its own privacy information where applicable.
